Maximum PIP awarded to client following appeal

Our Welfare Benefits team recently secured a maximum Personal Independence Payment (PIP) award for John, who was referred to Hugh James by a local Headway branch.

John had an award of PIP, but not at rates which were considered to be acceptable. Our Welfare Benefits team assisted him and his family with an Appeal.

This led to the decision under appeal being revised, with an award of the maximum rates for PIP made by the third Decision Maker. The full Appeal process – involving an issue of risk, as awards can decrease as well as increase – was avoided.
