What are you looking for?

Public inquiry solicitors

Public inquiries are major investigations set up by government into matters of public importance. The last 30 years has seen a three-fold increase in the number of public inquiries launched compared with the previous 30 years.

The areas covered by public inquiries range from transport accidents, major health crises, financial failures and environmental exposure.

Our dedicated Public Inquiries team has significant experience of acting on some of the most sensitive and high-profile inquiries and inquests to take place in the UK in recent years.

We also provide an inquest service for individuals and families looking for support and advice during an inquest process. If you are looking for this service, please read more on our dedicated Inquests webpage.

Why use us?

Flexible & scalable resourcing model

We have the appropriately trained and experienced resource within our dedicated team to provide a flexible and scalable resourcing model to support large-scale inquiries to meet your needs.

Our Inquest team regularly deals with the most complex of matters before Coroners throughout England and Wales. Many of the inquests are Article 2 inquests in which the Coroner is called to address wider issues, such as the need to take steps to prevent future deaths.

Our experience includes:

  • Representing the Welsh Ministers as an interested party at an inquest.
  • Acting in the inquest into the death of Mason Jones, post the E.coli inquiry.
  • Acting in an application for the Attorney General’s Fiat to apply to reopen that inquest following the conclusion of related criminal proceedings.
