Lawyers from Hugh James have supported the Port of Milford Haven on an exciting new project to build a 100-bedroom hotel on the Milford Waterfront development, which will be operated and managed by The Celtic Collection – the group behind the Welsh flagship Celtic Manor Resort.
The top 100 UK law firm, led by Gerallt Jones in the Corporate/Commercial team and Iwan Jenkins and Rob Williams in the Construction team, provided advice to the Port on all aspects of the project including the agreement with Celtic Manor.
The new hotel will form part of The Celtic Collection’s portfolio of Tŷ Hotels. The 46,000 square foot property will be located at the entrance to Milford Waterfront on the Pembrokeshire Coast and will feature 4 floors of bedroom space, a restaurant and bar, a private dining area, and an activity suite within the ground floor.
Construction work began in January and the hotel is expected to be completed in time for opening in the Spring of 2022.
Speaking of the deal, Partner and Head of the Hugh James Corporate/Commercial team, Gerallt Jones, said today:
“It’s great to be involved in such a positive development, as we look forward to the reopening of the Welsh hospitality and leisure sector after an incredibly tough 12 months. This project will secure new jobs, boost tourism, and continue to make Milford Waterfront a vibrant destination. We look forward to charting this project as it progresses.”
Andy Jones, CEO at the Port of Milford Haven, said:
“We are grateful to the team at Hugh James for the professionalism and expertise they provided us on this agreement. The new Tŷ hotel is an important investment for us within a much wider hospitality and tourism business diversification strategy. This partnership with The Celtic Collection demonstrates to other investors that Pembrokeshire offers great growth opportunities, and we are actively looking to the next phase of our Milford Waterfront development as we seek to increase visitors to this stunning part of Wales and create exciting career opportunities for future generations within the hospitality and tourism sector.”
