Hugh James Partner, Mark Harvey, has been appointed as Senior Fellow to APIL, the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. Mark Harvey has become the first member in Wales ever to receive this honour – and is one of only 11 across the UK.
Senior Fellow is the highest-level accreditation and is awarded only to those with a wealth of experience and who can show an outstanding contribution to personal injury law.
Mark is a Partner, Head of Specialist Claims and leads the Hugh James London office. With over 30 years’ experience in the field, he was one of the lead lawyers securing compensation for victims of the Gerona air crash and Southall and Paddington rail disasters, as well as being instructed in the MH17 air crash litigation helping secure compensation for a British family. He was the court appointed lead solicitor in the PIP Breast Implant Litigation.
Speaking of his accreditation, Mark Harvey said today:
“I was amongst the original members when APIL was established in 1987. I have served the organisation at various levels and so to now be appointed a Senior Fellow is an incredible honour. I must thank my colleagues at Hugh James and the many counsel whom I have worked with to get me to this honour.”
Mark, who divides his time between Cardiff and London, currently represents several British and foreign nationals in UK and worldwide travel and product liability litigation. These include a helicopter air accident in Norway, many who have been injured by unsafe medical devices as well as the survivors of an African safari accident.
He has lectured extensively around Britain, mainland Europe and the US on personal injury matters and broadcasts regularly on television and radio. He has been described as a “Leader in Personal injury and Product Liability” in Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 between 1999-2021 as well as being entered into the Hall of Fame in the Legal 500.
